Bhavna Kishore was in Punjab reporting for her channel when she was arrested by the police after the alleged accident. The Editors Guild of India expressed concern over his detention by the Punjab Police and demanded his immediate release.

The guild issued a statement on Saturday saying that a policeman took them in a car without the presence of women policemen, which is against the law. Also in this statement it has been said that the FIR lodged against the reporter at Ludhiana Police Station appears to be excessive and unduly hasty.
